About Us
The Pittsburgh Ceili Club, or PCC, has proudly promoted Irish culture through music and dance in the Pittsburgh area since the 1989. When Peter Shovlin Jr. started our organization, we had just enough dancers for one group! However, we have grown so much and we are very proud. In addition to our weekly and monthly gatherings, we are also a staple performer in the Pittsburgh St. Patrick's Day Parade and the Pittsburgh Irish Festival!
With live music playing, our club practices ceili dancing which is an Irish folk dance done in pairs, triads, and larger groups. Ceili dancing is a great dance for beginners! Each dance is led by a "caller" who calls out the dance steps as the song progresses. Even if you miss lessons, please feel free to hop in and learn as you go! Each month we chose different dances so there is always something new!
The word "ceili" in ceili dancing means to "visit" or "gather". We would love for you to visit with us! Our Events page, Facebook page, and Instagram account have information about when and where we meet!

Meet our board!
The Pittsburgh Ceili Club is proudly run entirely by volunteers. Our board members are elected by our members and may serve for 4 years (two consecutive terms) at a time. Our organization is a non-sectarian and non-discriminatory. In addition to our board, we also have many other volunteer opportunities.
